A true story about rising from the ashes to achieve your dreams.

Lyrics

A string of bad luck’s what you’d call it,
Yeah, but that ain’t the half of it son.
I was burnt out, busted and broken
About to quit, my life had come undone.

Left for dead on a cold street corner,
Gutted ten times worse by my love.
A pocket of change, all that’s left to my name,
Looking for answers from heaven above.

Shine upon this darkness I begged,
Hurry Lord, before the Light grows too dim.
Give me a sign, I’ll consider it a gift,
Nothing shall be impossible with Him.

Now my brush is a 35 millimeter,
My paint’s all I can see through this lens.
I’ve got 20 years of gear, all stored up in here,
In the back of a ’67 Benz.

But I’ve learned to find beauty in everyday things,
To capture something, no one else can.
Until they visit my booth, searching for truth,
Or some mystery that speaks to them again.

There’ve been so many when I nearly gave up,
Its darkrooms for digital, and iPhones everywhere.
And I’m off to Mumbai or Monterrey, and on my third girl this year.

Shine upon this darkness I begged,
Hurry Lord, before the Light grows too dim.
Give me a sign, I’ll consider it a gift,
Nothing shall be impossible with Him.
